A WordPress site, rebuilt headless on Next.js and Payload CMS.
TariffTel had fifteen years of classification expertise and three distinct products, but its WordPress site was holding it back. In three weeks we rebuilt it as a headless Next.js website on Payload CMS and AWS, structured around products, industries and proof.
From a phone screen to the Payload CMS admin
Complex products, zero margin for error.
TariffTel sells accuracy. One wrong digit in an HS code changes the duty rate, the landed cost and the compliance risk, and its customers include ASDA, M&S and boohoo. The website had to carry that same level of precision and trust.
TariffTel's team had been working on the site with Claude and handed it over to us expecting to keep doing so. A core part of the brief was that content changes could be made through Claude via MCP, connecting straight into the CMS, rather than only through a traditional admin screen.
It also had to explain three very different offers side by side — TTExplore for instant AI suggestions, TTVerified for expert-backed codes with a full audit trail, and fully Managed Services — to buyers across food and drink, fashion, retail, health and beauty, electrical and manufacturing, each with their own classification problems.
The existing WordPress site had outgrown that job. TariffTel needed a faster, more structured platform where its team could publish case studies, industry pages, glossary terms and news themselves, without waiting on a developer every time a duty rule or product feature changed.
Four pillars behind the build.
We moved TariffTel off WordPress onto a headless stack, building the content model first and treating the site as a product catalogue for compliance, not a brochure.
Product-led information architecture
Navigation built around how buyers choose: TTExplore, TTVerified and Managed Services compared clearly, with pricing, how it works and industry pages one click away.
Headless Next.js frontend
A fast, SEO-friendly Next.js build replacing the WordPress theme, with structured metadata so pages on tariff classification and customs compliance are quick to load and easy to find.
Payload CMS content model
Products, industries, case studies, blog posts, glossary terms, food classification articles and redirects are all structured collections in Payload, exposed to Claude via MCP, so updates can be made conversationally as well as in the admin.
Hosted on AWS
Deployed on AWS with media served through CloudFront, giving a secure, scalable foundation that suits an ISO 27001 certified business.
A site as precise as the codes it sells.
Clear products, trusted proof.
The new site is live, giving TariffTel one place to show 99% expert-verified accuracy, over 1.5 million products classified and recognition such as FDEA Export Service Provider of the Year 2025.
Built on a headless stack, it can keep growing with new products, industries and compliance topics like CBAM and the Digital Product Passport.
