Case study · Eco Funding for Homes

A credible online presence, built in two weeks.

Eco Funding for Homes is the group behind Heater Grants and Insulation Help — a retrofit decarbonisation partner working with social housing providers on ECO4 and grant-funded schemes. What it didn't have was a website of its own. With a tight budget and a two-week window, we adapted a WordPress theme rather than building bespoke, drafted the site copy with ChatGPT, and got a professional, accreditation-backed presence live.

The challenge

A serious business,
with no website to prove it.

Eco Funding for Homes delivers large-scale retrofit programmes for social housing providers — ECO4, ECO+, SDHF and local grant funding, all held to MCS, PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 compliance. That is a credibility business: housing associations award work to partners who look established and accredited.

The group had the delivery record and the accreditations, but no site of its own to point bid teams and housing providers at. It needed one quickly, and the budget was set. A bespoke build was never the right answer here — it would have taken longer and cost more than the brief allowed, for a site whose job was to establish credibility rather than do anything technically clever.

Our approach

Four pillars behind the build.

Tight budget, tight deadline. The honest answer was not to build from scratch — we adapted WordPress and used ChatGPT to get a full site of copy written inside the window, spending the time where it actually mattered. Four pillars carry it.

The right tool for the budget

A bespoke build would have blown both the timeline and the budget for no real gain. We picked a WordPress theme that already did most of what was needed structurally, then adapted it — so the money went into content and credibility rather than reinventing a layout.

Adapted, not just installed

The theme was reworked to carry the Eco Funding brand: green identity, the leaf-house logo, retrofit photography and a structure built around how housing providers actually assess a partner — services, process, accreditations, proof.

Copy drafted with ChatGPT

A full site of copy in a week is the part that usually slips. We used ChatGPT to draft the service, process and about pages from the client's own material, then edited for accuracy and tone — a fraction of the time, without leaving the pages thin.

Built to prove credibility

The site leads with what wins retrofit work: the five-step delivery process, resident case-study videos, and a full accreditation wall — CHAS, TrustMark, MCS, NAPIT, PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 — so a housing provider can qualify them in one visit.

The outcome

What the build delivered.

The result

The right site,
not the biggest one.

Eco Funding for Homes went from no web presence to a professional group site that stands up to scrutiny from housing associations — process, proof and accreditations all in one place, with Heater Grants and Insulation Help positioned underneath it.

It works because we matched the solution to the constraints instead of fighting them. An adapted theme and AI-assisted copy delivered in two weeks what a bespoke build could not have, at a cost that fitted the brief.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Eco Funding for Homes needed an online presence quickly and to a set budget. As the group behind Heater Grants and Insulation Help, it had the delivery record and accreditations but no site of its own to put in front of housing associations and bid teams.
Because it was the right call for the constraints. A bespoke build would have cost more and taken longer than the brief allowed, for a site whose job is to establish credibility rather than do anything technically complex. Adapting a solid theme put the budget into content and brand instead of rebuilding layouts from scratch.
A full site of copy is usually the thing that slows a two-week build down. We used ChatGPT to draft the service, process and about pages from the client's own material, then edited every page for accuracy, compliance wording and tone. It cut the writing time dramatically without leaving the pages thin.
Eco Funding for Homes is the parent group; Heater Grants and Insulation Help are its delivery brands, each with its own site and audience. This build gave the group a corporate presence sitting above the two, aimed at housing providers rather than individual households.
Yes — and we'll be straight with you about what that trades off. Where a bespoke build isn't the right fit, adapting a proven theme and using AI to accelerate content can get a credible site live in weeks. Get in touch and we'll scope what's realistic.
