Case study · The Marketing Practice

Manual CRM onboarding, replaced by one adaptive integration tool.

Every new Argus client meant manually mapping their CRM’s fields and formats by hand. We built a tool that adapts to the CRM instead, cutting integration time by more than half.

The challenge

Every client,
mapped by hand.

Integrating a new client’s CRM into Argus was a manual, time-consuming process — every CRM had its own structures, naming conventions and data formats, and someone had to reconcile all of it by hand, every time.

That overhead slowed down onboarding and pulled technical support into work that shouldn’t have needed a person at all.

Our approach

Four pillars behind the build.

We started by mapping the actual CRMs The Marketing Practice’s clients used, then built a tool flexible enough to handle the variation between them.

CRM landscape research

We researched and mapped the CRMs most commonly used across TMP’s client base, and the data format quirks that caused problems.

Pattern identification

Standard integration patterns and problem variables were identified up front, so the tool wasn’t designed around just one CRM.

Customisable mapping logic

Configurable mapping logic adapts to each CRM’s individual structure while keeping a consistent connection into Argus.

Built to scale

A scalable foundation means new CRM connections can be added without rebuilding the integration layer each time.

The outcome

Onboarding, more than twice as fast.

The tool today

In production,
onboarding clients faster.

CRM integration time is down by more than 50%, with lower technical overhead for onboarding new clients and more consistent data across the whole Argus platform.

It’s been in production since Q2 2024, and it’s the foundation for every new CRM connection Argus takes on from here.

  • You're building a data product and need a team that can deliver.
  • You want to get AI-ready — pragmatically, not theoretically.
  • Your reporting is a mess and you need a real platform underneath it.
